The easiest home remedy is to apply hydrogen peroxide with a cotton swab on the canker sore (1 part hydrogen peroxide to 1 part water). Then dab a small amount of milk of magnesia on the canker sore 3 - 4 times a day. This is not only soothing, but appears to help healing. But with respect to my previous canker sore problem, I found this product with its link at http://www.oramd.com/ very effective, fastest curing and so soothing.

I recommend a few things to patients who get canker sores...

The first is fairly simple- 800 mg of ibuprofen every 4- 6 hours. Helps to dull the pain.

The second is what we call the "pink cocktail". It is 1T of liquid Benadryl and 2T of Pepto Bismol. Mix together and swish for 30 seconds. Spit out. Repeat as often as necessary. The mixture of the 2 products has several beneficial ingredients that help to coat the sore, prevent secondary infection (it will heal faster), relieve pain and inflammation, etc.

Good luck!!

Get a vitamin E capsule, use natural vitamin E, not synthetic. Poke the capsule with a pin. Squeeze a drop of the oil onto your canker sore. It will give instant relief and it helps it heal faster too.

The only home remedy I can think of is swishing your mouth with warm salt water. (trust me it's gross). Also, my dentist just recommended Peroxyl. I really wouldn't recommend a product called "Kanka" It tastes bad feels funny and doesnt work. Good luck!

Here's what I would do: First: Colloidal Silver spray or liquid (it's a natural antibiotic) Second: Tea Tree Oil gargle several times a day Third: Wellness Formula by Source Naturals take it every day follow instructions for when ill and when well. There are so many other things you can do that will help boost your immune system like elderberry, garlic, aloe, zinc and VIT. C lozengers. There is also a old wifes tale about gargling with salt water, I would prefer sea salt 1/4 tsp in warm water, you could add the tea tree oil to that. Find a good health food store check out the immune boosting section and ask for help. Theres a good book you will find there Prescriptions for Nutritional Healing by Balch. There is now a fourth edition. Good Luck
