I have been having heavy periods for some years now, i can't complain tho as they only last 3 - 4 days.
However the period before last was extremely heavy, i cannot even classify it as a period, more like an haemorrage, infact i had to call 911.
I was admitted to hospital and stayed in for 2 days, the bleeding did subside.
The hospital did do an ultrasound which showed a small fibroid and a bulky uterus
Strangely enough i never had any pain whatsoever with the haemorrage whereas normally with my periods i do have pain so not sure what that means.
Hospital referred me to Gynacologist who i saw about 1 month ago, i had an endometrial biopsy taken.
He told me it would take 10 days for it to come back.
Well now it is 3 weeks on, i just phoned office and was told results had just come back today. Drhas not seen them yet and he will contact me next week.
My question is to you ladies, have you had one done, and is it a bad sign when it takes so long to come back or is it positive?

I had mine done prior to an endometrial ablation and the results were very quick -- less than 1 week.

It doesn't always mean that it is possitive, sometimes it may had just some back abnormal and they had to send it back in to double check.
I have endometriosous and had the laser surgery to remove what they could so I could have another baby.
If it is positive they will likely do a laparoscopy and laparotomy which is very simple, they go in through a little cut in the belly button and a little cut by your pelvic area and remove it by laser.
If it is really bad they will do the hesterectomy but they usually try the easiest route first.
It takes about 1-2m weeks to heal but alot of times they can try medication therapys to keep it from progressing afterwards.
Don't always think the worst just because it took so long, the lab could had just been running behind.
Alot of times they will put u on birthcontrol to keep u from ovulating after.
Good luck

Biopsies results are not delayed for unusual findings. Ten days is an unusually slow turn around time for a biopsy. In rural area, like here in Kansas it is 3-4 days.

I had one done in April. My results took 3 - 4 weeks, but my OB/GYN said that it would take that long. I think the labs are just backed up. Don't worry it's not a bad sign.

Uterine fibroids are usually not dangerous, but can cause immense discomfort and lead to complications like anemia from heavy blood loss. In rare cases, they may cause complications that affect pregnancy.

In cases where there are no symptoms, treatment may not be necessary. However, proper diagnosis and treatment may be required if your symptoms are severe or causing complications. Along with conventional treatment, you can try some natural home remedies. Read here https://tr.im/WSOd0
