I'm considering opening an espresso stand and want to know which brand/company makes the best machine for the best price.

Rancilio are the best!
they are commercial machines, last longer than the other brands, good technical support , great design , great models , good price!
You can find them in several stores over the internet, just compare prices before you decide to buy.

The Wega Lyra is Wega / CMA's most recent prosumer / light commercial machine, featuring a rotary pump and an e61 group.

I don't know about espresso machines, but I asked about coffee makers and the #1 choice seemed to be "Bunn". For an espresso maker it might be different, but the Bunn one, if there is one, is probably pretty good.
