A martini has a limited number of ingredients either gin or vodka, vermouth (optional) and olives.

Isn't a chocolate mango(or whatever other dread concoction)-tini just a chocolate mango vodka cocktail?.

...hilarious!
right.
they ARE putting "martini" at the end of every drink name now, aren't they??
lol!
it's like "they" think people will be all, "...oooo... this drink! it's so... trendy! order me another one!"

I think it's because it's trendy. Also probably because it sounds better than saying "chocolate mango cocktail"....the "tini" on the end makes it sound upbeat and cutsie...which in turn makes women want to drink them.

It's a marketing ploy I bet!

I don't so much mind them being called martinis, it's the 3+ dollars it adds to a regular old drink.

Honestly I wonder why they are called cocktails.. nowadays, it sounds so dainty and gay.

You wouldn't catch a straight man saying he wants a cocktail in a bar!
