Is it ok to let my 3 daughters (ages 9, 11, and 12) run around and play outside in just their bathing suits even if they're not getting wet or muddy or dirty? It's very hot and humid where we live and I think this would allow them to move around more easily and feel good about themselves. I just didn't know if I should let this happen? If not, what do you suggest? Thanks in advance!

Sure, maybe put on a sprinkler for them to run around it.... That way it won't look too weird and they can't really get hurt... Also, it will cool them off.... Keep plenty of sunblock on them and give them plenty to drink...

If it is a backyard (preferably fenced in) I would say that its fine. And the front yard isn't exactly broadway, but you definitely need to be aware of the types of people that live in your neighborhood. Sex offenders must register and you can find out online where they are in your area. Not to say that something like that would even possibly come of your daughters' innocent play, but the threat needs to be recognized. And to be fair, while shorts and a tank top may not cover that much more skin, they do a little. If they were mine, I would feel more comfortable with that.

I see nothing wrong with it. However if there are males around I would suggest some shorts. My girls wear bathing suits all the time around the house but it is required they put on a long teeshirt or shorts to instill modesty in front of members of the opposite sex.

Let the girls play...

I guess. Just keep an eye on them. Make sure the older girls bathing suits are appropriate. There are child molesters in the world and they could be staking at your kids. I'm just saying it's possible.

Maybe they could play in the back yard, not the front.

If your yard is fenced and private, I would let them do it. However, if your yard can be openly viewed by other people who don't live in your home, I would be concerned about them being seen by a pervert. It is good that you are concerned. There are a lot of pedophiles out there so watch your children like a hawk! Anyone who advises differently has their head up their . . . . . . . is naive.

Yeah lady, theres nothing wrong with that, at that age their innocense is still in tact. You will know when it becomes a problem in just their attitude and they start doing it to get attention, then you might want to not let them do it as much, just follow your instints, your first ones are usually always right.

I can't believe that you are even worried about this! How is that any different wearing a halter top and short shorts or mini skirt? That is like saying that they're not allowed to go to the pool either

I don't see anything wrong with that at all! How is it different from short shorts and a tank top? As long as they're 'covered,' who cares what they're wearing on a hot day in their own backyard?

Do you have a fence? Remember there are crazies out there, so keep an eye on them. No, this is a great summer fun idea to keep cool. Get them some water pistols and they will really have fun.

My biggest concern would be the sun - make sure they all wear hats and sunscreen, and bring them inside during the middle of the day, when the sun's rays are at their strongest.

Skin damage is irreversible.
