Depends on the tattoo parlor you go to - what one artist might charge you $200 for another would do for $100.

The larger and more detailed the design the more it will cost.

Plan on spending at least $80 for good work by a decent artist. (small tattoo)

The best way to find out is see a local tattoo artist in person and ask him or her your questions. If you have a sketch of your tattoo they will be able to give you a rough estimate of what they'll charge. Keep in mind, every artist has a different price for the same work and asking certain things online can lead to misinformation.

Also color and size is something solely up to you. Take some time looking for a custom tattoo artist who can help you get exactly what you want.

The biggest thing is that you don't price shop because in most cases, you get what you pay for. Check for quality work in their portfolio and if you get the slightest doubt the artist isn't what you are looking for, then leave and find someone new.

It can depend on the state your in, the size and how much detail! I have 11 tats and still going! I say state because I have been everywhere from Alabama to Texas and NY just to name a few. I have found out that the further you go south the cheaper...for some reason. But on average if it's a pretty big tattoo they'll charge depending on the hours it takes to complete it...so estimate a hundred maybe per hour???? Some have set prices it depends on what you're getting honestly! Just shop around have a picture with you and start asking!

I am not an artist, but have 3. It truly depends on who does it, their experience, etc. on the cost. Check around and ask different artists in your area. It will be for life, so you want it to be nice.
PS Anyone who tells you it doesn't hurt is a liar. Good luck!
