my samsung remote control has stopped working. Only the volume and mute botton works on the remote and i have a feeling it may be due to some interferance with my sky+ remote/box. any ideas on how to fix this?

Unless you are pressing the buttons on your Sky + remote at the same time as you are using the Samsung box, it can't be interference. If you have a digital camera or camcorder with digital viewfinder, you can check the remote by looking at its LED through the camera's digital viewfinder. When you press the buttons it will light up white. If this happens when you press all buttons of the remote, it is probably the remote decoding chip in the TV that's faulty.

could your batteries be low??? if its not that it may be that the remote is packing up-this doesnt happen very often but it can happen sometimes if the remote has packed up u can get a remote called "one-for-all" thye are fairly cheap.

its not interferearence with sky+ - well actually why do u need your normal tv remote to work ?? coz sky + remote works with tv and sky

Actually your remote is broke....
The remote uses several different LINES to get the signal to the remote's signal generator....since the volume/mute works it tells me only ONE LINE is active and creating a signal out of the generator....the rest of the lines are broke.
You can't fix that without it costing MORE than a new remote does.....
Get online and type in your Brand name/model number and the word "remote" in Google and you'll find a brand new remote for it....

Try using just the Sky+ control. If the control is not set up for your TV then follow these steps.
Press TV button
Hold down Red and Select (light blinks twice)
press TV button
Enter code 0 0 6 0 (light blinks twice)
press off button (if TV dosn't switch off then press tv then off until it does)
when its switched off press the select button.
remember to tell remote what you want it for (TV or SKY)

With limited information not basic to declare for specific,attempt the zoom with the television distant or some courses wont overscan without suited setup.there could be something not set actual.help to your television variety and so on or help for xfinity distant setup.
