Stray resistance is any resistance in a circuit which was not accounted for. It could be due to elements within the circuit, the conductor itself, and other things as well.
If a circuit has more (or less) resistance than originally anticipated that could affect the circuit or system in a negative way. If the voltage is constant then added resistance would decrease the number of amps flowing through the circuit, by V=IR.

This occurs in high resistance measurements, like photodiode detectors, where resistance is over 1 megohm. Then lots of things affect the meausurement, like leaky insulators, moisture and dirt.

Very good .... Stray resistance is often caused by moisture or condensate . Electronics and moisture will not accomplish what was intended.
