God will maintain the Earth, however it will only be in ways that we cannot control. He put us in charge of what dwells on this Earth, and gave us the power to make our own choices.
I believe that since the turn of the 20th century we began making irresponsible choices. When so called global warming came about decades ago, we were too modernized to care about the future of our planet.
God is sending us a sign through global warming, telling us that we need to change our ways if we want our Earth to last.
However, I think Jesus' return is coming sooner than we think. If it is, all we can do is pray and keep our faith in God strong.

Of course not. Al Gore is sounding the warning and we would all be wise to at least give it some consideration.

Hi, Sarah:

When Jesus returns, He will find faith, for sure. but times will be bad. Although some scientists are speculating on a mini-ice age, the plagues in Revelation 16, and verses in Isaiah 24 speak of a devestated earth. Yes, Jesus´rescue mission will be from a dying planet.

The Earth is still rotating, is it not? Science, like any other tool, has its limits. For instance, it cannot prove the past, and it cannot predict the future with 100% certainty. It also cannot define reality. Predictions are made by assumptions, as are interpretations of the past. God said he will keep the world until his Son returns, and I will trust God's word. It has never failed me before.

Also, you can't rule out the possibility that God works through people to help maintain the Earth.
