yes you can touch the ears if you think about it if when had pups to play with they would tug and all on them.
It is also helpful if you get her use to having her ears cleaned now.
Also play with her feet so it will be easier to cut the nails.
Congrats on the new pup

I have a long haired chihuahua, which is really similar. I had never even given any thought to not touching her ears! She has such silky hair there that I run my fingers around them constantly. She's 6 now and her ears are erect. And she loves having them petted. Sorry to not be of any help, but I'm amazed that this could be an issue. What did the breeder say about touching her ears?

Feel free to touch your Papillon's ears. However I am going to warn you that Papillons go through an ugly duckling stage where they blow their coat, they tails can straighten and their ears can go down. Don't worry when you begin to see this. Once she reaches her first birthday, she will look like what a Papillon is suppose to look like. In fact some breeders recommen massaging the ears to strengthen the cartilage.

Most dogs with erect ears have times when they are up and down as young puppies but don't worry about rubbing them. They usually stay erect after about 3 months, and the biggest cause of the cartilage tearing is usually from rough play with litter mates when they are very small or by other puppies as they are maturing.

Okay it is alright to touch them but in the case of many dogs that have ears that stick up you can't tug on them or smash them down. Basically you can't rough house the ears. They should be okay

As long as you are gentle, you should be able to pet her ears, massage them, scratch them, etc. I don't know who told you not to, but it's kind of silly. Dogs love their ears scratched. You won't break them. It would take some very rough treatment for you to "break the cartilage".

As long as you are gentle, you can touch the ears. In fact, if your nails are trim, she probably likes you to rub gently inside.
But don't bend them... rub them straight.
However, you shouldn't be able to hurt them, unless you are really careless.
