last night my neighbors 2 dobermans and 1 mutt got into my yard they killed my 12 yr old poodle and one of my staffies and injured one of the staffies to the point I think we may have to euthenize her. When i called them to please come get their dogs and showed them what they did the guy said hmm who would have thought dobbies could kill pitbulls.I was dumbfounded I didnt even know what to say when he said that he never appologized or anything just got his dogs and left what should I do? Im heartbroken over all of this we love our dogs like children and he acted like it was no big deal.

it seems that when animal control went to the peoples home they were not there. When they did come home and got the notice to contact animal control they were not happy at all. The guy told my husband that his dogs where in his fenced yard and that its not his fault if the dogs made a hole in the fence that divides our yards. He cursed my husband out when he told him that if he had been watching his dogs then they wouldnt have gotten into our yard. needless to say The police say its a dispute for the courts to handle and the 3 dogs have misteriously vanished.

Since the neighbours dogs were clearly not under control. I would start by calling the SPCA or Animal Control. Report the incident. The next time it might be a child. I then would ask that the neighbours pay any vet bills for the injured dog and to pay for the other ones they killed. I would also seek pain and suffering. If the neighbours don't comply, take them to court. Why on earth should you pay for the actions of the neighbours. I'd ask for the max in court.
You won't get your dogs back and for that I'm sorry...but you will get justice and closer.

I am so sorry to hear that I hope your OK. You should get the police involved because they killed your dogs and didn't do anything about it. Your neighbors dogs should go to Animal Control if the owners aren't responsible enough to take care of the dogs and keep them home. I am deeply sorry to hear about that news. Hope I helped. : {
*Just read last additional info. I was sooo sad I'm very very sorry about your other dog.
** ps - maybe u should make a website to keep people informed on the court and if they get fined or what have u because i believe your neighbors could have done something so that the dogs would be more secured in their own yard. I love dogs very very very much and want these people to get the punishment they deseve and along with many dog owners**
Again im very sorry for your loss = (

Press charges. You're well within your rights to do so. Make it as public as possible. Those dogs are vicious, and as much as I hate to say it, probably need to be put down if the neighbor refuses to fence them in. I don't believe in killing dogs but these ones will probably do it again if they can, and it might be a kid or something next. Your neighbor clearly doesn't give a damn...
I used to board my horses at a barn where the neighbors refused to fence in the dogs, and our barn owner wouldn't do anything about it. I was riding once when the dogs attacked my horse... I'd had enough at that point because they tried to bite my horse and they HAD bitten another horse at one point. Called animal control. They told the people they had to fence their dogs in, or they would be euthanized.
PS. Yes, remember to take pictures. It's hard to do, but it's evidence.

I am so sorry for your loss and I hope all goes as well as it can for your dog that is still alive. You need to contact the police and have your neighbors dogs euthanized. It is very sad and I am personally 100% against animal cruelty but your neighbors dogs are very dangerous. I'm sure that your neighbor will be furious, but his dogs have now tasted blood and have experienced the ability to kill another animal. Because this has happened once, it is extremely likely to happen again. These dogs also know that they can get out of their yard. Next time it may not be someone's dog's, it could be someone's child. Again, I am very sorry for your loss.

Call the police and make a police report.
Tehn take them to court for bills.
Not just for you but think of what these dogs may do to others dogs or worse yet kids.
People like this need to be shown that they can't allow this to happen.
Sorry about your loss and I hope everything will work out.

well if the guy wouldve been polite you couldve handled it by yourselves but now he is obviously not going to cooperate with you. I would get a lawyer and take legal action against him and make him get his dogs put down due to being a danger to your neighborhood, i mean think about it, if his dogs killed yours, what's next, a little innocent kid playing eith his ball in the front yard. The man obviosly has no heart for animals. HE should also have to reimburse you for all expenses you EVER put into your dogs.

I'm sorry for your loss - that's horrible.
This is going to hurt, but take pictures. Call the police and Animal Control and file charges. Keep a record of all vet expenses.
He is responsible for his dogs and their actions. Don't be surprised if the charge is destruction of property or something along that lines. If you wish, talk to a lawyer about filing civil charges against the guy for deprivation of companionship.

I am so sorry that this happened. Good luck and do not back down from this. If you do it will happen again to some other dog or even another person

Did you call the police at the time? Did you call Animal Control? Have you taken photos? Did you notify your vet? Do you have the name and address of the neighbors who are responsible?
Time to grow up and be an adult.

You report the incident to Animal control and petition to have his dogs euthanized. Then you can sue the owner for damages both emotional and financial. A police report would not hurt case either.
