Christians do a really good job of distorting the Bible as well. Many things Christians believe Biblical are actually "Church dogma" that has been passed down over so many years they think it is Biblical.
My greatest wish is that Christian teachers, of all kinds,
would separate the dogma from the actual truth of the Bible, Maybe some of the atheists could accept it better.
I am a born again, spirit filled Christian who looks for the truth not "church dogma" and have for over 40 years. Below I have given a very good example should you care to read and maybe learn something...Your choice...

True religion can be proved by 3 things. 1- Lord in the heart 2- Scripture 3- A bona-fide spiritual master coming in the line of spiritual masters originated from God Himself. ( if not so, how can one teach if he was not taught in the first place? ) An atheist has a heart as well as a Christian. It is the sincere desire to know that leads one to knowing in the most gentle way when the time is right. However Chrishtians claim something and fight for it even if it is not as complete as it could be, but Athiests don't. Which do you think is better? I will go with Christians.

No. I am a Christian and I am tired of so-called Christians distorting the Bible. If you do not believe in the Bible, then it makes no sense for me to pray for you or bless you or tell you that you are condemned. I will do my best to present Jesus to you--not by preaching, but by living as He has instructed. I will be a law-abiding, conservative, friendly person who will not waste time forcing something on someone who does not find my way of life appealing. I understand why you would not want to be associated with those who are less moral than you but claim to saved. Please realize that it takes both the walk and the talk--if someone claims to be something that does not make them such. I am flattered and surprised that Atheists read the Bible.

I am a Christian, and I do think Atheiests distort the bible, but just the same I think some Christians do. It is never a good idea to throw out a little part of scripture without considering the verse in its context.
So, yes i am tired of atheists/agnostics distorting the bible just as well as Christians, and the Word of God is not already distorted. If you read the bible and can come up with a specific example of this, let me know, and maybe I can help you out.

No, not really. I am a Christian, my boyfriend is an Agnostic so I'm pretty open-minded. Everyone is entitled to their own opinions. I don't believe that the Bible is distorted. It's difficult to understand sometimes, but that's why people should study It themselves instead of just going off other's opinions.
I'm praying for you, you're going to Hell, and God bless! Hahaha! Just kidding. I hate that when people say that to me as well since I'm not a "super Christian" Lol

The only ones who distort the Bible are the ones who don't understand it. Spiritual blindness leads to definite misinterpretation. Critical thinking is often times critically flawed.

If a man happens to meet a virgin who is not pledged to be married and rapes her and they are discovered, he shall pay the girl's father fifty shekels of silver. He must marry the girl, for he has violated her. He can never divorce her as long as he lives.

Are you going to go into detail or just assume everyone knows what "distortions" you're talking about in the bible? And to answer your question, I don't like when anyone distorts the bible, regardless of thier religion or lack thereof.

No one distorts the bible more than those who preach it. I've seen the same exact scripture interpreted 10 different ways by 10 different people.
