It can be very wet in August with heavy storms,but they'll soon pass.Unless you're going into the jungle(not on Phi Phi)or just laying on the beach don't worry about a bit of rain
March to may hot
june to october wet
october to feb cooler
you will still get a lot of sun and 35'ish degrees.Happy travels

It will be somewhat rainy, Aug.-Oct. are some of the wettest months here, but if you aren't familiar with tropical rainstorms, they often last a short time with very heavy rain and then often clear out. Look for highs around 30 during the day. No offense to the first answer, but it is the low season for tourists during the summer months and hotels can be as much as 50% less than during the high season. Places like Phuket and Phi Phi are normally much less crowded than Nov.-Mar. (high season).
