What do you think of Vista? How does it run on your computer? Have you had any major incompatibility issues? Would you go back to xp if you could or do you think Vista will be even better once sp1 is released? Please dont comment unless you actually have/had vista on your computer and have 2gb of ram.
It seems most of the vista haters either never used it or didnt have enough ram. I wanted to see what the people who meet the requirements think of vista.

I just bought a new Dell laptop with 2gb of ram and a 256mb video card. (The video card is also important for Vista to run smooth). It runs like a dream. I have had no issues with it at all. It "looks" better than XP. I also purchased office 2007 and it also has had some nice upgrades compared to 2003. Don't be steered away by the "haters" out there. Most people that complain about it didn't buy a beefy enough machine to run it properly. Vista is the way of the future for Microsoft. That being said, I see no reason to upgrade to Vista if you are running XP, but if you are getting a new system it is the way to go. (why buy a new system without the latest operating system?)

1) I have vista premium
2) I have 2 gigs of ram
3) no incompatability issues experienced. I even plugged in a 3 year old Epson Scanner; a 2 month old printer and installed several programs that I've used under Win Xp with no problems.

I went with 2 gigs knowing that I would probably do some multimedia on my computer (video editing and graphics work). And I heard that getting less than 2 is not worth having vista on your comp

The real question is why should you have to have 2GB of RAM to run Vista smoothly? Other operating systems don't have such ridiculous hardware requirements to run properly. You can run OS X or Linux with Beryl and do just fine with 1GB (or even 512MB) of RAM. Requiring that much is just sloppy coding on Microsoft's part.

i would not upgrade to vista, like i did cause i got a lot of problems with the drivers for my graphics card (8800gtx). other than that vista froze quite a bit. i just installed it to try it out on a separate partiotion but i am going to stick with XP. Vista is turning out to be the new Windows ME. i have 2gb. of ram. the things i did like about vista was the intergrated searching and folder options.
