There are two adults and two children (ages 8 and 6) in the family, and I'm looking for a cteative way to house us in a two-bedroom apartment. Since I have one girl and one boy, each has one bedroom right now, and my boyfriend and I sleep on a futon in the living room and I share the closet with my daughter, he shares the one in my son's room. It's nice for the kids because they each have a fairly large room to themselves, but my boyfriend and I don't have much privacy! I'm trying to think of other ways to make the situation work....and we're looking at another apartment, also with only 2 bedrooms (because getting a three-bedroom where we live is very difficult and it costs almost twice as much as a two-bedroom!). Anwyay, this new apartment we're considering has one of it's bathrooms in the master bedroom, which means whichever kid gets that room will get the bathroom and the other three of us will have to share the remaining bathroom. Is there another way we could set things up?

We like where we live (a block from the beach) and don't want to move to another area!! :P

I really don't feel it's appropriate for an 8 year old girl and a 6 year old boy to be sharing a room (in fact, in some states, it's illegal, if I'm not mistaken!)

Yes, I know it's taboo and you may be giving them ideas that they can do what you and your boyfriend do. On the assumption that you and your boyfriend are their parents then you can use the, mommies and daddies sleep in the same room concept or you don't do this until you're reached age ___. I don't like the idea of room sharing/division in such a skewed way as you're suggesting with a master bathroom.

You can use room partitions or a camping theme and put the kids in the same room. Bunk beds will give it a more camp like theme.

Or, you can use a princess/knight concept. Knights are the protectors of their ladies, therefore there isn't any "weird" message. However, each of their bunks could have curtains or sheers of some sort from modesty.

Or you could blend the two.

You could also have them pretend they are cars from the movie Cars. I don't believe they show any of the Cars sharing a "garage" in the movie.

That's my two cents. Hope it helps.

Your kids are young enough to share a room. If the bedroom is a good size, put up a curtain down the middle so they can have some privacy(like a hospital curtain). They can share a closet, and dresser space. But be looking for a three-bedroom in a couple of years.

Is there any reason why your two children cannot share a room. Even giving them the master bedroom and setting up two different areas for them with partitions or screens would be better than you two having no privacy.

4 kitties and a couple of adults in a 550sq ft residing house. We rescued all of them 2 quickly and a couple of later. They get a lengthy brilliant now, there became some adjustment, yet because that 2 are kittens i don't believe of you've gotten any vast issues. the biggest challenge for us became the muddle container, interior the end we wanting to apply a large plastic tote container with a hollow interior the area and sparkling it a minimum of two times widely used. we hid it behind the settee and used an somewhat good sturdy smell neutralizer. because it became this variety of small area, it became no longer a probability to make to container invisible. We tried potty preparation and it paintings nicely for 2 and under no circumstances a lot the others. we've one male and three women, there aren't any sizeable cliques. anybody especially a lot licks and snuggles with anybody. even if my male is extra affectionate and the oldest woman is the chief. see you later as you've the like to provide and would stay alongside of their vet needs why no longer keep them?
