How do you tell a person with the IQ of a 2yr old to stop typing in caps without offending her?

Let me ask you this...
Are you her boss or a fellow employee?
If you are her boss, then make sure you reiterate the employee policies and procedures that outlines how her appearance is inappropriate. Make sure you have the supporting documents.
Perhaps it should not be you making the correction. Maybe you should tell your human resources to handle this. They will speak to her in private and the source will remain annonymous.
If you are a fellow co-worker, you still can tell your boss or human resources but don't take matters into your own hands. I'm sure you have bigger fish to fry than a hickey that will disappear in a couple of days.

Look unless you are her Supervisor you can't read her the riot act for having a hickey...

if she is a co-worker... give her a heads up that prominent display of hickeys is not good for her professional image...

shucks give the girl a hand... you can teach her how to minimise the mark(s)!

Just ask her how she got hurt. Act like you don't know its a hickey... Who knows, maybe it really isnt a hickey... it could be a rash. But just asking about it to any NORMAL person, should make them feel self conscious enough about it to cover it up.

I mean, how is she going to explain to you that its a hickey without turning red?

If she openly says its a hickey, then act shocked. That will tell her that it is not appropriate to wear a "hickey" to work. LOL

You just got to be straight up. If you try to dance around the subject, you would probably come across as one of those uptight people that nobody respects because you can't come right out and say what is on your mind. She/he might not like you being straight up with them, but in the long run, would have more respect for you that way.

You could have a discussion about "professional appearance standards." However, you had better make darn sure that such standards are written down and were discussed with all employees when they were hired.

Otherwise, you may come across as being judgmental and singling out this employee for something you find "distasteful," and you may find yourself with a lawsuit on your hands.

Good luck!

If you are her supervisor simply tell her it is tacky to come to work covered in hickys suggest she tell her friend to put them lower. I am a nurse and tell my husband to go below the v-neck line. If you are not her supervisor speak to the supervisor so they can talk to her. She just may not be thinking.

Just tell her. There was this girl that came in to apply for a job where I work and she had like 4 or 5 of them. Gross.

if you are the boss and doesnt find a way to talk about this issue to the employee you are missing other competences as well for a boss. If you are not her boss : wear sunglasses.

Tell her that she needs to wear a turtleneck to the office or a high collared blouse. Hopefully she'll get the message.

Or ask her what kind of makeup she's wearing. Because it's not working..........

just let it go, its not your business....
if there is a problem, let the boss/owner deal with the issue...
that hickey was not done at work, it was at home at her own time....if you mention that inappropriate, she might get offended with your own action...leave it alone and get over it.
