Obviously, we aren't using these substance in the more useful ways they were intended for (poisoning people... God seems to digg people suffering and dying quite a bit).

Never mind those three. What about the substance without which life cannot exist?

In one form it can cause terrible burns and permanent disfigurement. In the other two it can kill you by drowning or freezing.

Hmm, very intelligent design.

He designed the cheapest substances to be poisonous. All of the things those are used for can be substituted, but its more expensive.

Why, uhhh... to make it so that God's chosen followers have things which they can fling at their enemies on this earth and achieve victory! Yeah!!

Although I guess it probably would've helped if God made it so the stuff isn't poisonous to its own followers. Hmmm... wonder why that isn't the case...?

water isnt poisonous ( unless in too many quantities ) neither is mercury lead
