When I first heard that BB said this, I was shocked. But when you think about it, it does in fact make sense. Consider the following points:
1- No one wants to see Hamas take control of the West Bank as they have in the Gaza Strip.
2- Israel does not want to be locked into another long, painful, and costly (both in terms of money and human resources) occupation of West Bank population centers.
3- Fatah does not have enough power to hold on much longer.
4- The Jordanians have occupied the West Bank before, so they are capable.
5- The Palestinians won't cry "occupation" and "human rights abuses" (at least not as loudly) if the Jordanians come instead of the Israelis.
6- The Jordanians and Israelis, officially, have good relations and having the Jordanians in the West Bank would be of minimal risk to Israel, certainly much less risky than allowing Hamas to take over.
Thus, Netanyahu, a man I personally cannot stand, actually has a decent idea!

I think you're being a little harsh. I think there is some advantage to his proposal (though I don't think I would agree with it). For one, the terrorists might respect law and order more if it was dispensed by their brothers the Palestinians. Also, since the policing force and the populace are "on the same side", they would be given more leeway to do what they had to do, and would receive less criticism if something went wrong. If the Jordanian/Palestinian troops did what they are supposed to and keep the peace, it would mean fewer casualties in general, fewer Israeli casualties and fewer terrorists. As an added bonus, it would prevent any sort of Hamas coup from seizing the West Bank as well.

And you sound very typical of a whiny mouth Israeli... The FACTS ARE... The Jordanians have been good neighbors to the Israelis since signing the Peace agreement in 1994. King Hussein's pro-Western orientation and modest territorial aspirations makes him an honest man to deal with in having the Jordanian forces help out in the West Bank. In 1996 an additional trade treaty was signed and Israel provided considerable assistance during the establishment of a modern medical center in Amman. You obviously have any misgivings to any Arab country lending a helping hand... get over it already! Jeez!

Looking at the answers listed so far , it just goes to prove that Israel has the same diverse , diametrically opposed range of opinions as any other country in the region !
It also shows that you have the same opinion of your politicians , so how come you blindly follow these same politicians down the path of discrimination , hatred of your neighbours , arrogance towards those under your control etc etc .
Could it be that there is another way .....that a lasting peace might just be possible if you shed the yoke of hatred & arrogance that consumes the decision makers in your government !

Aussie stay out of it, your nothing but a lowly Lebanese(LL). Judging from your country or origin your the last person who should be talking.
Why doesn't Israel just annex the west bank and gaza and be done with it. Annexation and the transfer is the only true road map for Israel. Let them be with their arab brothers out of Israel.

I'm terribly ashamed to say you're RIGHT!
I've lived for 13 years in Israel and the only thing you see is corruption everywhere... All the politicians only think of their own gain and so the nation is the one who suffers...
They accept bribes, economize on the countries construction and more...
This is the sad truth...
