why don't Dr's offer tape worms as a form of weight loss?

Its most likely due to the associated complications and lliability.
1. Health problems associated with tapeworm infections- Many tapeworms (like B. Latam) cause severe anemia with associated deconditioning (things like heart murmurs, other vavular heart disease, decrease exercise tolerance, shortness of breath)-- the vision of losing weight and still being healthy and vibrant while being infected with a tapeworm just can't happen.
2. Difficulty of eradication-- once the patient has lost the desired weight, the tapeworms can't live in the body indefinitely. Meds like mebendazole, pryzaquantel, etc. have their own serious side effects.
3. Risk of transmission to others- many tapeworms have a life cycle (fecal-oral) that would leave the possibility f spreading to otheres very high. Not a big deal for healthy adults, disasterous for any immunosupressed people (including the very young and old, pregnant)

I feel you though-- I wish there were an easier way to control weight!!

you rather do no longer desire to try this. it rather is gross confident, yet you will look unwell and not neccessarily lose plenty weight. Tape worms take alot of the nutrition out of your nutrition, yet they do no longer consume many energy or fat. Your eyes will yellow and look blood shot, your pores and skin will discolor, and additionally you will get unwell greater usually. yet you nonetheless in all possibility won't decrease weight. Who would desire a three foot trojan horse of their intestines??

ugh...cant see much of a demand for "tape worm diet". would you swallow a tape worm? oh gawd! now i'm sick.....jeeez....

and i wonder if the parsite has other parasites? i guess you would have to use treated tape worms....jeez...now im sick again....
