Best to start telling you where NOT to get one. Stay away from pet stores. They will charge you a fortune for a pup that is from a puppy mill. It will most likely be unhealthy and have genectic health problems all it's life, if it lives past the first couple of weeks.
Oh, and there is no such thing as a teacup Yorkie, so if you see ads in the newspaper saying that's what they have for sale, you know it's a dishonest breeder trying to rip you off.
The newspaper is not a great place to find a puppy either btw. Most people who advertise in the newspaper are backyard breeders. They have not done the genectic testing necessary for the breed, the parents are poor quality, and again you may end up with a sick puppy or one that will have serious health issues.
You really should either adopt an older and maybe mixed Yorkie ...www.petfinder.com or buy from a responsible breeder. Best way to find them is at www.akc.org or the website for the Yorkie National club http://www.ytca.org/
Be prepared to wait for that perfect dog though. Yorkies are both popular and have very small litters. It's worth the wait to get a healthy dog though and not help support the puppy mills.

You just have to look around. The newspaper is your best bet--also, find some breeders in your area and ask them about it. Make sure the puppy is vet-checked, and has had its shots and been wormed, unless you're willing to spend money to do that yourself. Whatever you do, I highly recommend that you do NOT go to a pet store or anyone who breeds Yorkies to sell to a pet store and/or a broker. Usually dogs from these breeders are of a much lower quality.
Make sure you really want a teacup first, though. Teacups are adorable, but keep in mind that "teacup Yorkies" aren't actually an AKC breed, they are only a dwarfed Yorkie and as such tend to have behavioral and health problems more than full-size, regular Yorkies. Also, small females (like any small female animal) tend to have trouble in birthing, so keep that in mind if you're thinking about breeding.
Good luck!

I would also advise you to join the free online forum yorkietalk.com. It is a great place for yorkie owners, and soon-to-be yorkie owners. You might even be able to find a yorkie that is within your price range and size range, because there are a lot of pure bred yorkies for sale on the site. There are breeders in your area that I could put you into contact with. My username on yorkietalk is Anna Banana, so send me a message if you decide to join. I think the site will help you a lot! It helped me so much, and now I have my yorkie boy.
I hope to hear from you there...but if you decide not to join...Good luck in your search!

Don't get anything labeled "teacup". Yorkies are small enough as it is, there's no reason for them to be any smaller.
Look on the AKC website, they have a breeder directory on there, you should be able to find someone decent.

Wow my friend just got one for her birthday! She said she found a breeder nearby, that's probably what you need to do.
Try Petfinder.com! You can find them in your area.
But there might not be some nearby which would make you have to travel for it or get them to bring it.

First things first, I would NOT get a yorkie if I were you. They are being stolen everywhere.
Also try creigs list. =)
