Lisa, There are many variables. How much do you earn/what are your anticipated monetary losses? How old are you? Are you willing to sign away future claims to settle quickly? Do you have an honest lawyer? (That's like asking if you have wings). Are you being too anxious? I suggest that you allow the liable insurance company begin to pay the bills and your lost wages immediately. Delay settlement for future loses and pain and suffering until you can get a grasp on what the future holds. Watch that lawyer. I once had a law suit against a major company. The Harvard lawyer initially told me that I would collect well into six figures. After more than a year I got a letter from the lawyer stating that the suit has been deemed a nuisance suit and that the company has offered $2500 to end it. The lawyer emphasized that I should take the settelment offer, (less his fees and expenses of course). I took his advice and got a check for $1200. Now, if you write it as $1200.00 I guess that is six figures. Did I mention that this highly regarded Harvard lawyer was a cousin? And I still wonder how much they paid him to drop the law suit.

Are you sure they even have that much available in coverage?

We cant tell you what your "case is worth" as you so eloquently put it just from medical bills. Any person in the world can run up a large amount of medical bills.

Your settlement is based on.. coverage available.. permenancy of injuries.... reasonable medical bills already paid.. reasonable future medical bills..

So.. sorry.. we need tons more information. anyone who says anything different doesnt knwo what they are talking about.

get a good lawyer it could be years before they settle but the lawyers hook it up where the medical bills get paid when it finally settles

Ask your lawyer, that is what they get paid for. And boy, do they get paid! Sorry for your bad luck. Hope things get better.
