Recognition is a good thing.

I, for one, spend long hours each day doing mostly thankless work. Lately, I've been running tons of simulations. If I can indulge in answering a few questions, and if a few people find my answers amusing, then it does make me feel a little better.

And yes, I probably do need to make more friends outside of work, but summer isn't really the easiest time to do that.

I'd rather have a small amount of contacts and be closer to then a huge one where they do not truly care (some not all) and I guess you can say its like myspace lol.. some like 1000's of friends and others just like a few. =)

I don't feel excited or hyperactive about it, but glad i have someone I can relate to and look to for advice when needed.

When i add ppl to my contacts it's for good reason. Over half of them i don't even agree with. However they do issue very presentable arguments. If you're a slouch in your beliefs, i don't add you. Can't learn about you that way.

I feel the exact same way! If someone that I don't really know or haven't ever met before can accept me to be one of their contacts and friends, I feel special, because out of the other billions of people out there, she/he chose me. And their religion is fine if it is different doesn't matter because we are all different anyway. And it's fun to talk with people and find out what they believe and why.

Hope I helped!

I open a new account every two days so contacts, fans and best answers no longer really concern me. I'm only here to answer questions not create imaginary friendships with people I don't know.

Yes i agree, I have a good feeling that they wanted to be my friend or contact. I also like it when other people read my answer and as to join my list.

You can join mine if you want

No, not really. I only add people I like the Q/A of. If they reciprocate, that's fine.

I usually add whoever adds me, unless it's to preach at me or harrass me.

I'll add folks that have impressed me with their answers too, whether they add me back or not. When they don't add me though, I die a little inside. :(
