I mean, it seems to be a "belief system" that allows you to believe whatever you want. If you are knowledgeable about it or practice it will you let me know, I'm just curious.
thanks

Freedom. Freedom for the mind, freedom for the body, freedom for the heart. There is no fingerpointing, no belief in some eternal hot place, and no big angry grandpa in the sky. There is no Big Bad Evil Guy concept to control and scare people into obediance. Wicca allows for wide interpretation within a general set of beliefs and ideas.

And BTW - Wicca is the belief system. A Wiccan is a practitioner of that belief system.

I'm not Wiccan, just a hedgewitch, but I believe the Divine is both male and female. All life was and is created by the God and Goddess together. That is the way all life begins. Male and female components are both required. I believe all life, however small the creature, is sacred and that we are the keepers of this Earth who is our Mother. Hedgewitchcraft works with Nature and the Energy that is all around us. We respect the four Elements and the Divine Spirit. We find God/dess in everything, everywhere.

It doesn't allow you to believe whatever you want... their code of ethics follows the Wiccan Rede and the "law" or "rule of three"... so there are guidelines, ethically speaking. I'm an ex-Wiccan from several years back and am now Buddhist. Wicca makes a good deal of logical sense, but to explain how would take a book. That was the "draw" for me. The respect for nature, the altruism, logic, etc.... I just found something MORE logical to ME. Hope that helps.

LOL You don't get to just believe what you want. You don't "make it up". You can make your rituals but not the beliefs themselves. The fundamentals basis to the belief is the God and Goddess, the duel divine. With out that, you aren't Wiccan or Pagan.
The draws are personal. It's different on everyone's path. If you aren't drawn to it there is no way to explain it.

I'm not Wiccan, but I'd venture to guess that living in harmony with nature and in tune with what one believes to be the natural forces of the universe is the draw. I can understand and respect the harmony with nature part.

It is an earth based religion and focus on harmony with nature.

A big appeal to the religion is that you don't have to be saved and are capable of trancending to a place of happiness whenever you die based on being a good person.

If you want a religion with no consequences, try Hoodoo.

a search for balance in a male oriented world, as in a god and goddess, a love of the natural world and a desire to revere it, etc., etc. there are many pagan paths

It's a spiritual path that lets you believe what you actually believe in your heart instead of dictating to you what you're supposed to believe.

It's harder to find your own way, makes you more responsible... but I wouldn't have it any other way.

Wicca is supposedly the pre-Christian European nature religion that has come back around. In actuality it is mainly a modern construct by authors of new age books out to make a buck and shake down unsuspecting wannabes.

For girls, probably the chance to practice a religion that isn't saturated with sexism.

For guys, probably the small-but-nonzero chance of dancing naked around a campfire with a group of girls.
