A little over an hour south of Indianapolis, in Bloomington, there is a thriving Tibetan Buddhist community.
The Dalai Lama has visited several times, and I think that two of his nephews live there.

Check out Buddhanet.net and do a locator on Indy to see. Depending on what sect of Buddhism they follow depends on day to day activities, and the Vinaya is the rules of conduct the Buddha taught that all monks and nuns should follow, for ethics in any true Buddhist "group". Info on the Vinaya can also be gleaned from Buddhanet.
