Yes, it can.
Try reading a book or going to a decent post secondary school.
Love - chemical response to a mate. Quite useful in keeping the kiddies alive and healthy. Uh oh, that's that dreaded evolution talk.
Hope - ...well this is just vague. You can define hope as anything. I hope I get to eat lunch today, right? That's not religious.
Faith - social science and psychology would address issues of faith. It helps bind groups and societies together, yada yada.

Yes.
1. Love is a word that can mean many different things, but to use its most obvious meaning, well, plenty of research has been done on mating and reasons for sexual attraction.
2. Hope and faith can easily be explained because early humans would have needed to be "gullible" enough to trust the more experienced humans when warned to stay away from the hungry (but oh-so-cute) tigers lurking nearby. Being skeptical back then was deadly.

The act of love is pretty easy to explain. You pretty much have to perform those actions to propigate the species. Most people find them pretty pleasurable too.
But what exactly are the acts of hope and faith?
What actions do you perform to demonstrate these traits?

Technically? Yes they can. They have done numerous brain scans on people while feeling these emotions and have located the places in the brain that they reside and in some cases have decided on the chemicals that cause them. Doesn't make it any less cool. :)

Love? Sure. Chemicals. You see it in nature all the time - parents protecting their young.
Hope? Sure. Everyone can be deluded.
Faith? That's a hard one. Why would anyone trust in something for no reason? That's gotta be filed under 'delusion'.

Certainly, they're human emotions, as well as hate, envy, despair, greed, and all the others. Where one came from, they all came from.
