I would suggest asking this question on the Siglin genealogy message board at:

and

Good luck,
Dave

Beware of coat of arms peddlers.

Since you have given a name, you will very likely be furnished a link to a coat of arms.

There are no laws in the U.S. regarding heraldry and there are companies all over the internet that will sell you one based solely on a surname. That is not valid. I feel these people are descendants of snake oil salesmen.

Not everyone with the same surname comes from the same root. Many coats of arms have the same name but that does not mean everyone with that surname is any way related to any of the persons granted a coat of arms, much less be a direct descendant.

Coats of arms were granted to individuals who passed them on to their sons.

Ancestry.Com shows most Siglin immigrants came from Italy. However, that does not necessarily mean the name is Italian.

Rootsweb is a free site. They have many family histories with the name Siglin. Now information found in family trees on any website must be taken as clues not as fact as most of the informaton is not documented. Even if you see the same information over and over by different submitters, a lot of copying is being done.

Look at the trees. Once you probe a name it will take you to another screen with the email address of the submitter. Now some submitters might not know anything about the Siglin they submitted as it might be someone who just happened to marry into their family. However with the many that they have you very likely will find a Siglin researcher that knows something.
