Sorry, not a Christian...
Atheists and scientists hold as true that which can be proved with empirical data. When something can't be proved with empirical data, then it's not uncommon to eliminate those possibilities which the evidence disproves. It's also pretty standard to make no positive assertion that something happens or something exists unless there is evidence in support of it.
The Big Bang is a theory that has developed from the empirical data we have collected thus far. It is not dogmatic. It is flexible and subject to alteration or complete elimination should data prove it to be an invalid theory.
That's how science works. We assume nothing, collect data and draw conclusions based on that data. If any further data invalidates those conclusions then they are either altered to incorporate the new data or they are eliminated completely. We don't *start* with the conclusion and then search for things that make it work.

This is like the friars who used to debate about how many teeth a horse had rather than just open up a horse's mouth and count them.
Why don't you ask an atheist. He (or she) would have a better idea of what an atheist believes than I would.

I think what you're trying to do is lump some labeled grouped together...like atheists and evolutionists. Then the opposite, I suppose, is to lump together Christians and creation. I think it is not such a black and white issue. There are many combinations and variations. God LOVES variety! (However the world happened, it certainly is a beautiful place, eh?)

I have no idea what atheists believe about the big bang theory. I'm sure many of them will answer your question for you.

Don't know, why not ask them yourself. Why ask Christians what atheists believe? Why not ask atheists what they believe.
