Home remedies are not the answer here. You haven't used the correct treatments yet so don't panic, this is treatable!
OK first of all, you need to treat the animals and the environment, as you know. Treatments from pet shops and supermarkets are pretty much worthless - these places aren't licensed to sell the appropriate drugs so they rarely work. You need to go to your vet to pick up the correct treatment - a spot-on like Frontline, Revolution or Advantage for your animals (recommend Frontline) and a proper house spray like Acclaim, Indorex or Staykil. You will need to spray your house, vaccuum the next day then repeat in a few days time - sprays do not kill flea eggs and larvae so you need to repeat the treatment once the eggs in your carpet have hatched.
Once you've got rid of the current infestation (a real bad one can take up to a month but it only usually takes about a week) you can use Frontline Plus on your cats every 6 weeks - it treats the animals and the environment.
Last point - you must make sure to get those spot-ons on the skin of the animal, not the fur or they won't work.

Get some organic flea answer or an exceedingly effortless one and water it down as much as you may. Get a wash textile and use this to bathe each and each kitten. Dont dip them in the water. it rather is suited to permit the answer stay on the kittens fairly than dry it, so if achievable try this in the main well-liked area of the day and permit the kittens dry in the warmth temperature of the solar. in case you may stand it, attempt and %. out as many fleas as you may whilst the kittens fur is moist. additionally wash or much greater helpful, throw away each and all the bedding for the kittens (field and all!). Sprinkle your carpets with flea powder and then a marvelous vaccum and wash the flooring. that's what I did whilst my kittens have been infested and it worked properly. I repeated the wash technique 2 or 3 days later and persevered till they have been all long previous. purely remember to tackle the mummy cat with a flea bathtub with a miles better blend of answer. desire this facilitates...

Take your pets to the vet who will recommend the best solution for your pets's fleas. The problem is not the carpet, but your pets. When your pets are getting professional treatment for this problem ( discontinue the use of over-the-counter products ), then call an exterminator who uses organic stuff to kill the fleas on the carpet, and also right away a professional carpet cleaner, who will shampoo the carpet, and sanitize it. Good luck

I now use a product called borax on my carpets. It is in fact a washing powder substance but it kills fleas too. It is very cheap, you just sprinkle it on your carpets and hoover it up a few hours later. I tried all the expensve products and none of them worked very well, but this has been fantastic! I get mine from ebay for about £1.50 for a box of 300g. You may need to do it once a week for about a month to get all the new hatching fleas.

just remember its going to take a few trys with foggers, you need to start with u'r pets and get them under control there, then yard and fog the house a few times, the fleas are in different stages when you fog the house so it may to do anything to the eggs. read the box when u buy it cuz some can kill eggs.
did u know for ever 1 flea u see on u'r pet there are 100 more in the environment, IE: u'r house
garlic also helps
good luck!

I'd call a professional at this point. Have a pest exterminator treat your apartment, and be prepared for several treatments. The money you'd spend on home remedies will probably even out.

You will have to use a flea defogger at least twice, and maybe more during flea season (which is now until the first frost). It's the only way. My sympathy is with you; been there, had it done to me, know whereof I speak. Defoggers!!!

The best thing to do is hire an exterminator--there are organic ones--and take your cats to be dipped.
