i work for a bar, the owners really shouldnt be owning it. been working for 2 months and the last 2 checks had bounced. who , what , where do i go to file a complaint and what forms do i write this complaint.

Illinois should have a labor board commission. If you like your job tell your boss to pay u cash from now on.

I don't know about Illinois, but in Arkansas any hot check under $200 is a misdemeanor and over $200 is a felony. All you have to do is contact the chief law enforcement officer where the check was written. They'll take care of the rest.

Dept. of Labor in your state! It is SOOOO illegal to (1) not pay on time and (2) bounce payroll checks.

In the meantime, take off work. Don't keep donating your time and not getting paid for it! Tell them you'll come in when you've been paid for what you've worked. Use that time to.....

Brush up your resume. You'll need to be finding another job soon. Usually when payroll checks bounce, the co. is going under.

Report to the BBB (better business bureau) and to the Labor Force .
