I am about to move to Las Vegas with my boyfriend who is being stationed at the Air Force base there. I want to find a waitressing job. Are they hard to get? Where are the best places to find work? Will I make more money working in Las Vegas than I would in another city waitressing? Anyone with experience have any tips? Thanks!

The answerer above says you split tips, that is incorrect........depending on the type of server you are is where the money difference is. If you are a cocktail server in a casino, you will do well, even as part time. A food server in a higher class restarant, of course is also going to well, but remember, higher class places only serve dinner, so you will be working nights. I say check into being a cocktail waitress, I did it for 7 years, and it was well worth it!

Plain waitressing jobs are not hard to find depending on what area you live in. Cocktail waitressing on the strip is a longer hiring process. There are also alot of golf courses out here where you can waitress, bartend, be a cart-girl or work as a banquet server.

I live in Vegas. I would suggest you try to get on at any of the casinos. I know any of the "Stations Casinos" are great to work for. They are considered your "neighborhood casinos" and are not located on the strip. Here is a link:

If you are interested in working on the strip then that would be great too... it's just a little more of a drive from Nellis. Best of luck to you!

You split tips out here.
That may be a shock to you.
If you are real good.
Link into one of the casino web sites and start applying now.
You need to get a food and alochol awareness card out here.
some training. Some places make you get a sheriff's card too.
So you have lots of work cut out ...........
Good luck to you
