Sodium chloride is salt basically! This should not really be present in anything more than small amounts in a cat's diet any more than a humans - as for a chemical version of it, I would try to keep cats away.

Hi there.
Both sodium chloride (salt) and sodium chlorate are harmful to cats and living creatures generally. Cats will normally have the sense to steer clear, but check the herbicide box for advice before using.
Cheers, Steve.

Sodium chloride is salt. I think you mean sodium chlorate and yes, it kills cats. You mix it with water before use. I think it's safe once it's dry. It will tell you on the box.

Sodium Chloride is table salt...so I'm not sure if you are misspelling but it's not harmful to cats...Most cat treats have salt in them. My cat even eats potato chips every now and then. And to the guy/girl that said that salt hardens your arteries, that's cholesterol...if you didn't have salt in your body/diet, you'd die!

I don't know personally, you can call your vets and ask for advise over the phone or you can read the back of the packet which should tell you. Be sure to phone the vet anyway before you let the cats out into the garden as you don't want any fatalities.

Soduim chloride is table salt. It won't your cats any more than it will hurt you. Did you seriously not know that or were you just seeing what kind of responses people would give?

Isn't that sodium chlorate? I'll be accused of being pedantic, but you wouldn't want it on your chips. It kills cats.

Or ARE you putting salt on the grass? What's going on?

Yes - your cat will get it on its fur and will lick it off and ingest it. Keep your cat indoors for a few days.
