I guess I should have expected the hateful answers.

There are very few real practicing Christians that I know of (outside of perhaps the Amish or some Quakers) in today's world.

Most so-called Christians are 'pick-and-choose' Christians: meaning they select from the teachings of Christ what they want to follow and believe in and ignore the rest of His laws.

Which is why you see so many so-called 'without sin' Christians casting stones.

And why 'Judge not' means nothing to those who want to feel holier than thou and superior to others.

And why 'turning the other cheek' is rarely practiced unless it is a convenient gesture.

It is a 'Pick And Choose' Christian World.

No offense? You definitely were trying to offend. If you were a Christian you'd understand. We're not trying to tell others how they must live in the world but simply what we think of as the moral way to live. We feel we are the gatekeepers to morality. I'm not sure why, actually that is the real question. But we're not anti-gay people. We love the people, hate the act. I feel sorry for those that can't see that. What kind of people would we be if we picked and chose what to believe in. We as Christians are subscribing ourselves to this idea, this faith, what kind of believers would we be if we didn't stay true and firm in our belief that homosexuality is wrong. It says in the bible a woman was meant to complete the man, and only they are joined in the sacred bond of marriage. I mean Eve was created from one of Adam's ribs. Having had very close friends that were gay or homosexual I can't say I don't believe that they weren't born that way. Who's to say? The bible has been edited and re-written and translated, but Christians aren't here to pick and choose for those reasons, we can only hope what we are reading is what God meant for us to read. I dont know where we get off thinking we have the authority to tell them they can't get married, we feel we are on a mission to save the world from what we believe is coming. I am so relieved I am not the politician who is making these laws.

You sound like a genuine looking individual. even with the undeniable fact that, in case you check out feedback approximately gay human beings, here and someplace else, you will see that maximum the dislike comes from people who label themselves "Christian". I hear it all the time - human beings are consistently giving Bible expenses approximately how plenty you should hate gays. in case you call your self a Christian, it is your accountability to preserve those people who're wrecking your good call! And via that, i don't recommend complaining to persons who've observed that plenty gay hate comes from "Christians". I recommend take some steps to close those looney-toons down. Fifty years in the past, being a Christian meant being style and tolerant, and by no potential asserting a undesirable be conscious approximately every person. Now the "Christians" who get all the clicking are those like the Westboro Baptist Church. Why have no different Baptists sued them for use of the call? Why do Christians positioned up with this? Jesus would not have!

No offense, huh? LOL. Since I'm not "typical," "hate-filled," or "anti-gay," I'm probably not the right Christian to answer your question, but I'll give it a go.

God calls Christians to spread the TRUTH, which includes how God has told us that we should live. Our primary focus is not to be on trying to shift behaviors, however, but on trying to reach hearts. Truly changed lives only come out of changed hearts.

That said, there are things that God has told us are dangerous and destructive and lead in the wrong direction. It's difficult to know what God has said and ignore someone walking towards the edge of a cliff. Still, too often Christians behave more like those who would like to give the extra kick right over the edge of the precipice, rather than those who long to pull the person back to safety.

I try to truly live a life of love so that I might have some actual influence in focusing those around me in the direction that God says is healthy and most beneficial for us all.

Blessings.

None taken. Of course I am not the typical, hate-filled/anti-gay Christian.

The word christian prevents the hate filled part, so let me answer you in another way.
your lifestyle is illogical and not natural, you cannot reproduce after your own kind, you seek law changes to continue your delusions of a normal human entitled to siblings to pass on your legacy. These law changes are why you fill hate from so many. If you want to be gay then be gay, but that decision should mean you give up the right to children and marriage.

My, my....feeling judgmental much?

First of all, the terms "hate-filled" and "Christian" are completely contradictory. According to scripture, you can NOT be "hate filled" and be a Christian. Negative emotions / attitudes are from satan, not God / Christ.

Secondly, a SPIRITUALLY MATURE Christian gets their authority to witness / spread the gospel from God, but they do NOT have the authority to pass judgment on anyone. We only have the authority to plant the seed; the rest is up to God.

For one thing, we are not Hate Filled / Anti-Gay, as YOU put it, only those who are ignorant of the faith will make that assumption.

And as for the authority we have to tell others how they should live?

We cannot tell anyone to do anything, God has the authority, not us, As he has revealed in His Word.

Now, that same question back to you.

What authority do you have to tell us how to live?

Your question is rather confusing...are you accusing others of being "hate-filled/anti-gay Christian", or were you referring to yourself. I personally don't find that most people give a rat's patootie how anyone else lives their lives. I know I sure don't. No one other than my own family interferes with mine, and I excuse their behavior. In general, people are too busy attempting to deal with their own day-to-day living. "Hate-filled/anti-gay Christian" is rather a far-fetched idiom.

"Typical" I think not.

I dont know what "hate" your refering to..but your post seems more hate filled then anything else.

Anti-Gay? Let me explain somethign to you. Not only Christians are "anti-gay" There are many pagans, atheist's, agnostics, muslims, americans, polish, italian, irish, russian...The list could go on to every country, religion-non-religion, culture, etc...
dislike Gay's, just for plain out thinking it's disgusting.

Christians--think its wrong because of God

Alot of others think Gay is just disgusting... Nothing else....

No one has the right to tell other's how too live, and you have no right to tell anyone how to feel.
