About one week ago, i asked a question entitled "Too much religion, too little spirituality?" the question concerned the excessive ehphasis on religion in the R & S section, and the lack of emphasis on spirituality. the question was quite understandable, clearly stated, was non-offensive and non-insultive. Why was my question removed? Has this happened to anyone else around here?

yeah that happens a fair bit in here...

i've seen some disgusting questions and comments that just make me sick, but they never get deleted.

what happened is that some paranoid person with no life got their knickers in a twist and decided to report you just for the heck of it because they felt 'threatened' or 'upset' by your question.

seriuosly, dont worry about it! if you want answers, just ask again in a slightly different way. you have to be quite politically correct.

alternatively, write to yahoo and ask them why it was deleted and complain etc. some people get their questions and comments back!

i think that its mostly automatic. if people actualy are checking, i dont htink they do a very good job! but come to think of it, i would get pretty bored checking peoples questions and answers all day. the poor people probably get stressed. maybe they get paid commisions on how many questions they get deleted...who knows!

i think your deletion was just human error. write to yahoo or post it again. try saying "This is not to offend anyone! I just want to know......." yes..some people are slow and take offence at anything! :-P

anyway...dont worry! your doing fine!

God bless!!

It is simply censorship on the part of YA. I asked the simple question "Why is the bible so full of threats, violence, and killing?" and they deleted that one too. I made no judgments, or unfair remarks. I asked a simple, factual question about what is in a well known book. This is no longer a place for open, honest discussion. It is politically correct. And you are not allowed to speak the truth if somebody might be offended by it. Its more like Russia every day.

Chances are, a bunch of fundamentalists who think that spirituality without religion is a sin reported your question to Yahoo. If Yahoo gets enough reports, the question is removed. I think this is because the reports just go to a machine, not a living person, so it is probably automatic.

Sadly, it happens a lot in here. You see, "offensive" and "non-insulting" is directly proportional to the perceptions of the recipient or intended audience... so you could tell someone to have a nice day and if they perceive such a thing as offensive they're going to react... sometimes they don't but in here it's apparent that many do.

I spent a lot of time trying to figure it out. I answer a lot in the Computers section too. I have had some really inexplicable things removed over there.

I just don't worry about it anymore.

Sounds a whole lot like censorship! You know, it was used with regularity by the Nazi's throughout Germany and Occupied Europe, also by the Communists in The U.S.S.R. Welcome to the New and Unimproved United States of Unamerica!

I was answering and it was just gone when I tried to "submit". Would love to hear WHY also? Maybe it sounded like some indictment to the forum?
Is there a way to ask the "answer people" at Yahoo? That way we can all be careful not to do "who knows what".

I agree with you. And the reason why it got deleted was probably because the people who are so much into religion got mad. I am a christian follower of Christ. I am not much into religion, but I am in love with the holy spirit. I am more concerned with my relationship with Jesus Christ. People are so much into the 10 commandments and rules and not so much into their relationship with Jesus.

Questions and answers get removed for no apparent reason sometimes. I recently had an answer deleted, and I have no idea why. I have seen a lot of inflammatory questions here, and they don't get removed. Who knows?
