Hi:

I firmly believe that you should only give a gift to someone if you want to. A gift should come from the heart, not what the situation is. A gift show that person that you have some type of affection for them either love or care and anything in the middle.

It should only come from the heart!

It has taken me a long time to learn this and now I believe it 100%, there is no doubt in my mind. I no longer give gifts out of obligation I give because I want to.

Be safe and be well

Buying a gift for anyone shouldn't feel like an obligation, you should get them something because you WANT to. The gift doesn't have to be fancy or anything, as long as it comes from the heart, then that's all that matters. Give her a card and nice hand-written note. Good luck!

You never have to buy anything for anyone. You can get a card, and write a nice note. There is never any obligation to give a present. If you want to buy a gift card to a popular chain store and include it in the card.. and of course CASH ALWAYS Works.. but you dont HAVE To!

Gifts should never be given out of obligation. If you truly are happy for this girl, regardless of anything else, then give her a small gift. Otherwise wish her well in the future.

No, you don't have to, but don't you think it would be the right thing to do? Money is tight for all of us right now. Gift card money card with $5 or $10 bucks in it. I am sure it would be greatly appreciated by the graduate.

IF you are going, I would get a card and maybe a small gift card to a bookstore, Target, something like that.

At least a card saying that you're proud of him. It has nothing to do with anyone else but your relationship with that boy. At least let him know you've acknowledged his acheivement.

If you can't afford a gift at least get a card. It's the least you can do.

If you and her have a good relationship and you want to keep it that wat go ahead and get her a gift. If not at the very least get her a card.
