In Pensacola, a dentist went to jail just yesterday for having had intimate relations with a 16 year old prostitute. They (the news service) called her "the victim." Honey, until you are 18 you are considered a minor and not responsible for your actions. If you truly love this guy, you will leave him alone for two more years. Even if you "consent," he is GUILTY.

You're in luck, Florida has special laws. A person under 24 can date a person 16 years or older, but a person over 24 can only date a person 18 years or older.

That is too old. For it to be legal in almost all states, the difference between ages, if one person is under 18, is 3 years. You'll just have to check the laws in Florida before you get down with him.

"Florida
The age of consent in Florida is 18, however close in age exemptions do exist. By law, the exception permits an adult under the age of 24 to engage in legal sexual activity with a minor no younger than the age of 16."

Your a minor that's too old in any state. Unless you have been emancipated. Five years is a big difference when you are talking about a man and an impressionable young woman. If he loves you he will wait until you are 18. If he can't wait than maybe he isn't the right guy for you.

You are still technically a minor under the law. The age difference may only be five years but that is insignificant because the law still consider you a child. The age of majority is 17 in most states.

ur parents are right, don't u find it suspicious that 21 yr old wants to date u and not someone his own age. when i was 17 i dated someone that was 21 and they lied, cheated and manipulated me into believing whatever their crap was. i was so naive and i should have listened to what everyone else said to avoid being hurt so bad. being 23 now i look back and think why would someone who was 21 want to date someone so young.

I'd say your parents will make that decision for you.
