I thought Baptists were Christians.
Does it really matter? On that Great getting up morning, I doubt if St. Peter will be checking denominations.

That would depend on which doctrines. Having been in Baptist circles for years, I have had much opportunity to be in many B churches. By and large they are most all alike with the exception of perhaps some putting a heavier emphasis on certain things, such as being more evangelistic-minded.
Polity, or the form of church government, I sometimes have a tough time with...in some cases I have seen, there is little or no accountability, power plays by board members for pet projects, etc.
There are, however, many where the people are serious and very responsible.
Baptists jump on me when I say this, but I do believe that while immersion is the proper mode of baptism, I do not believe God will reject someone if they were baptized some other way, or as an infant.
They like to say God looks at the heart...so back at them!

Baptists are not radically different, never differing with other Christians on the Trinity, the Person of Christ, the atonement of the cross, etc. The differences come on how much water to use in Baptism and when to use it, and in the form of government. The rest is just worship style.
The fact is, historically, Christian denominations have agreed more often than Christiandom's critics would like to admit. Even Baptists' emphasis on evangelism and missions probably appears in the historic confessions and catechisms of most denominations.
There are many varieties of Baptists. However, I feel that "The Baptist Faith and Message" statement of faith is a good representation.

Depends on the Baptist. There are Baptists a mile or so from where I sit who are not loving to a great many of their neighbors; the Christ has said that we must be loving to our neighbors. There are other Baptists just as close who do very much according to the Christ. There are also, many in between.

About getting saved, yes. About the gifts of the Spirit not being for today, No. I also believe that a person can loose their salvation and the Baptists don't.

I go to a baptist church here in Orlando....
We get taught the truth of the Word of God....
So I would have to answer and say, yes
Edit:
Our doctrine is solely based on the Word of God...can't go wrong there.

Baptist are Christians.
There are many different denominations of churches but the central truth in them all is the belief of God and the belief that Jesus is the Son of God and the Bible is God's inspired Word.
All of the other stuff. . .who knows who is right.

I think Christians that truly believe the Bible, from Genesis to Revelations, and who love Christ believe the right way. I don't discriminate among the denominations of Christianity, because God was not responsible for dividing his children. Humans did that all by themselves.

Unlike some, I don't tell others if what they believe is 'right' or 'wrong'. Anyone who believes in Jesus Christ is a brother.
Those who bash others beliefs, especially out of ignorance, are not Christians, no matter what they call themselves.

No...they are fundamentalists/literalists and have superiority complexes...
They do not acknowledge other's beliefs as having validity...
They believe that Jews, Mormons, Catholics, Jehovah's Witnesses, Lutherans, Episcopalians and many others are going to hell..
Furthermore, they feel that of the protestant denominations they are the one true faith.
The Southern Baptists also thought slavery was ordained by God...and that the Bible justifies keeping women in their place.
