inside the room,there were no ladders,nothing . the ceiling was 15ft high,all there was was a pool of water covering the floor. how did the guy manage to hang himself?

i believe he was standing on ice, when he put the rope around his throat, and as it melted, he died leaving behind a puddle of water.
I would appreciate it if i got the 10 points for best answer, although i wasn't the first with the answer, i agree that your oldie is a goodie, or as i would put it, your oldie is a goldie

Where would you find an ice cube 9 feet high? As an alternative there could have been a flood and he swam into the room where he saw the rope hanging from the ceiling. Being exhausted from all the swimming he made a loop in the rope and slid inside it to rest. He fell asleep and the flood water subsided. As the level went down so did he but when it got lower than his body length the rope jerked him awake and, startled, he jumped forward and the rope encircled his neck and as the water level got lower he was hung. As the floor was uneven all that was left after the flood was a small pool of water on the floor.

Well, everyone has already given the answer I was going to use. Sooo, I'd like to ask, how did he attatch the rope to the ceiling?? 9ft blocks of ice are thin on the ground, thin in the air, just generally pretty trim.

he fell through the floor,in his bath tub, from the flat above wearing his dressing gown.( the pool of water is from the bath). the dressing gown cord got wrapped round his neck.
