Uhhhhhhmmm . . . are you talking about German culture, or *Chinese* culture being accomodated by German men who find brides overseas?

As an older, long ago divorced male, I'm certainly well aware of the international brides phenomenon. China, Russia, Ukraine, the Philipines, and Colombia are the main "markets" and one thing those places all have largely in common is a VERY traditional family structure and clearly defined gender roles.

And, naturally, because no woman would leave her country for a DROP in socioeconomic status or *fewer* opportunities, most assume the man is wealthy and able to pay for the privilege of their union.

Oi, Im German... Well, our currency allows the males to play the gentleman towards women I suppose. Im planning on goin to China soon, and am aware of the exchange rates... But even so, it might be a prejudice, but where is the LOVE? Come on, our men arent any different from others, its all about them. So they neednt necesarily have love, but at least morally questionable. We Germans share between each other. Some wifes go to make money while the husband becomes houseman... We simply look at who makes the most money and go from there. Seriously, its a bit of a sensetive point with me as I am strongly against utilising and abusing the institution "marriage". Im not religious, but still - this is too serious to muck around with. Hmmm, did I even help you at all? You gotta decide on that one.

I was in West Germany for two years, and it was an intensely fascinating culture. The Germans I came to know were very good and kind people. I am of the opinion that the Germans are the single most fascinating people in all Europe. They need to keep pure.

I am half German in my family history, my grandfather was first generation US but was brought up with all the customs there of, I loved to hear him tell my of his parents and to talk and sing in German (he was a bass). they are a very noble and proud people, rich in history, as most of Europe is, each unique.

I am not sure that what up describe is more a Chinese culture that is just as proud but very different.
