im 19, slim build, male. what is going on, this has happend to me befor but not as bad as it is tonight, could i also be getting brain damage?

relax!! you are most likely apneic. It is good to find it out this young before the sleep apnea can create other health problems like heart disease. Ask your doctor for a sleep study, sleep apnea is easily treated.

Sounds like sleep apnea. It's more and more common these days, and it is a disorder where you stop breathing for periods in your sleep. You can get a sleep study done to check on this, and there are ways to help if that's what it is. If it continues, I'd see a doctor.

You could have sleep apnea. It is a sleep disorder characterized by pauses in breathing during sleep. These episodes, called apneas (literally, "without breath"), each last long enough so one or more breaths are missed, and occur repeatedly throughout sleep.
