As a pharmacist I get this question pretty often. Itching from oxycodone has two different, usually unrelated causes.
First is that you're allergic to narcotic pain relievers. This is actually fairly rare and you would see this reaction with nearly all narcotic pain releivers. This is particularly worrisome if you have difficulty breathing due to swelling of the throat or tongue.
Second, and much more common, is that this is a side-effect of oxycodone. This drug is known to commonly cause a release of histamine which causes the itching that you are experiencing.
In either case this can be treated with diphenhydramine (Benadryl).

Yeah, I itch with it whenever I take it, but it kills the foot nerve pain I have so it's worth is. Just hoping I don't have a full blown anaphylactic reaction in the future taking it. It also give me a little "head high" which is nice. And relaxes me too.

It has caused me itching, too, mostly on my face around sides of my nose, no hives, but bad enuf to keep me from sleeping......Gonna try Benadryl with it tonight...will sleep great, but that's not the solution for daytime needs....ARG! Also tried Fentanyl, (sp.?) and barfed along with diarrhea...No pain,, but don't wanna live in my bathroom, either.... SURE AM READY FOR A SOLUTON FOR MY DAILY PAIN from Scoliosis, curvature of spine...

Itching is a common side effect of opioid-based medications.
Talk to your doctor if it's a problem for you.

No, it is not ok. I means you are developing a sensitivity to the drug, it could lead to an all out anaphylactic reaction the next time you take it. For now, take benedryl with the med if you must have it, that will minimize your body's allergic reaction to it. Be sure to notify your presriber so the next time they give you something else for pain.
