Hello there....

Kitten food is engineered to taste good (to sway the kittens from going to their Mother for food!)

I'm sure Purina makes a good kitten food, but the key items to look at on the label are these:

1. Protein: This is the main item. The "BEST" food will have the highest percentage of protein in it.
2. Fat: Yes, any kind of baby needs a lot of fat for brain development, kittens are no exception.
3. Taurine. This is the basic difference between cat and dog food. Cats need taurine to keep their eyesight sharp.

That's the basic difference between low-end brands and the high-end brands. If you read the labels, then you'll notice the high-end brands have more protein than the low-end brands. My cats eat Iams.

But if she likes it and is healthy, stick with it. Kittens can be on a self-feeder. I would recommend staying away from moist cat food and treats until the FDA has the whole pet-food recall figured out and is regulating that more. And also, make sure you never give your cat milk. Cats cannot digest cow's milk. And always make sure she's drinking water. If not, I recommend the Drinkwell pet fountain. My cats LOVE it. And, I notice they drink a lot more water than if they just had standing water!

Purina makes a few different varieties of kitten food. The more expensive varieties found at pet stores usually have a the higher quality, while the lower priced ones from the supermarket are generally lower in quality.

Their website has a good outline of what each variety is best suited for. Keep in mind though that they're just advertising their products, so you have take each claim with a grain of salt.

I used Royal Cannin for my kitten because the vet recommended it. It was dry food, so I'm not sure how harmful it could be. It was expensive though.

If you're looking for a moderately priced, high quality pet food, Iams is good and the higher end Purina is good.

You are going to get alot of different answers here but it's a horrible horrible food. Cats should not eat dry food as they are loaded with carbs, do not use the meats needed and have most of the moisture that a cat needs zapped out during the processing. Read the label!!!! Canned foods w/o gravy is what is best for all your cats. Dry foods can lead to obesity, diabetes, kidney disease amoung other things. Please don't listen to the old tales you hear about dry foods. Do some research

You've got no problem.

Cats are notoriously finicky. If you start feeding the cat canned food, or even tuna or salmon from a can, you will "spoil" the cat. It will then reject crunchy "chows" and demand more and more fattening canned foods. Sooner or later, your cat will turn into a furry blimp.

Keep her on "chow" as long as you can...

It is a low quality brand and the high ash content could give her diarrhea.
