yes, relaxers are used by many people of different ethnicities. I would just make sure you have it done professionally.

First of all what does (pr) mean!? If it stands for perm..... then you should see a stylist before going to get a relaxer!!! And yes, you can relax your hair!!! I would get it professionally done because it is way to risky to do it yourself!!!! It usually doesnt mess up the hair! You must absolutly tell your stylist every chemical service you have gotten in the past just to ensure that the type of relaxer that is used will not affect the other chemical thats been in the hair!!!! (example: highlights, color, perms, henna color... so on) After you get the relaxer be sure to get your hair trimmed cause the part of the hair that is usually affected is the ends..... so if you trim it, then there will be no chance of getting split ends!!! Also, if it seems to dry afterwards you can get conditioning treatments and it will put the moisture back in your hair!!! (local beauty supply stores carry at home conditioning treatments) Hope this helps and good luck!

Which gender are you? Regardless, the first time you do this, I would recommend going to a professional. If you do it yourself, any number of things can go wrong: you buy a cheap brand, and it doesn't relax enough, you leave it in too long and you don't like what it makes your hair feel like (too stiff, or dry). Go to a salon, spend the money, and if they do it there (make sure it's a reputable place), and if that happens, they can put more conditioner on your hair and balance it out. Basically, you tell them what it is that you want. This way, you can at least gauge whether it would be worth it or not for you to come back or go back to curly if you don't like it. There's nothing worse than an inbetween look.

yes u can relax ur hair, i'm puerto rican too and have very tight curls.

just make sure that u go to a professional that is specialized or at least experienced in doing this type of chemical service.

remember to get ur ends cut once u do this and every time u get ur touch up done. it's very important to avoid split ends.
a relaxer is the strongest chemical service besides a perm that u can put in ur hair so make sure that u don't do this urself.
make sure that ur scalp is dirty and that u don't scratch or irritate ur scalp in any way prior to getting the service done as it will burn ur scalp if it is clean. talk to the stylist that will be doing the relaxer before it is applied to ur hair and make sure that this is the best thing for u.

Try using a chemical straightener. If your hair is really course then a relaxer could help but i would talk to a professional who knows your hair.

My hair is also very curly....I've tried to chemically straighten my hair before and it makes it very dry and frizzy. My mom usually relaxes her hair (she also has very curly hair) and it works well.

Yes you can relax your hair but i would recomend a mild strength . They can be damaging but have it done by a proffesional.
