It doesn't matter what we believe in the sense that whatever we believe has a label. This label is caused by generalisations people have regarding people who believe things 'like us'. I have to agree that this is not always a good idea, people confuse Catholics and Christianity all the time and blame Christianity for many evil things through history that were done by A denomination or sect.

I used to be agnostic and here is why I changed:
Christians are often called hypocrites because they preach a message but many don't live by the message. Christianity comes with its own rulebook (the Bible) and it is still difficult to get your beliefs straight. Agnostics have the added difficulty of not having the rule book to begin and so must make up rules that don't contradict each other as well as follow them. This also means that agnostic people cannot, by definition, have the same beliefs as each other. As an agnostic believer I had many large holes in my belief structure that I overlooked or refused to accept. The God I believed in, I believed, was huge but in reality had no power (I believed it was all powerful though). There were also only two options really available. Either I was forgiven for all evil things I did or my God wasn't real. A third option was similar to reincarnation but in the end I realised that simply extending the lifespan of a person (or soul) doesn't give the soul meaning and I started looking for the truth.

That was my story and I hope it leads you to search for the truth as well.

God Bless

I never consciously DECIDED to be agnostic. I just knew from an early age that I didn't believe what the other kids around me did. I have never FELT the existence of a god, have no idea what "spirituality" means, and don't believe life makes much sense. That doesn't mean that I don't want to contribute to the betterment of humankind. I think that is the only bad thing about it, not being involved with an organization that has power to change things as a group.

"Agnostic" comes from the same root Greek word from which we get "ignorant." It simply means "untaught."
So, if you are going to be an agnostic, then you should also have a goal of being taught, learning truth, and seeking after knowledge.

No one stays an agnostic without stagnating their mind.

I don't think its a good idea to call yourself anything. the reason I don't call myself a religion is because 1. im expected to believe and act like the rest of them.
2. i don't like being called anything catholic, muslim etc... now people call me agnostic. Im not agnostic Im Chris

Weak agnosticism, sure. Strong agnosticism, or the belief that humans will never be able to understand the supernatural, is as good as claiming the supernatural exists and as illogical as any religious belief.

Sure. Come join us in the Atheist corner. (I place agnosticism as being a part of Atheism but it really just depends on your definition)

in my opinion, no.

Agnosticism claims we will never be able to know God, that he is distant and doesn't reveal Himself to us. sounds kind of depressing to me

agnosticism is the fence between theism and atheism, or deism and atheism. sitting on a 3 way fence has got to hurt....

yes...does a flying spaghetti monster exist? nobody knows...what you want to avoid, though, is letting agnosticism slip into apathy...always keep searching even if you feel like you may not ever know...
