I am talking about diet lemonade with no caffeine and other fizzies, not necessarily full sugar cola but I'd be interested about that too

If so, why? WHY!!! I think I might just cut out everything in life I enjoy and live under a rock. I feel in this day and age all of life's little pleasures are condemned.

Thanks

I know this bites, but a lot of fizzy drinks have salt in them, so you may gain water weight. If you limit your intake to 1 per day, you'll be fine.

I don't know where in the world you are, but we've got a product here in Canada by Nestea, which are crystals that you add to water. They come in lots of flavours (lemon green tea, tangerine, peach) and they're sweetened with Splenda. They're really good.

But don't feel guilty about indulging occasionally in your fizzy drinks, as you say, you still want to enjoy yourself!

Many of us are chronically dehydrated and soda drinks are massively responsible for this along with tea coffee and alcohol. How depressed was I when I read this information.....VERY!

I have cut them out for two weeks and I feel 100% better making sure I get my 2L water a day. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but it is true.

Most sugary drinks will dehydrate you. Water gets eaten up faster by sugar. You don't have to cut it out all together. If you drink some water afterwards the dehydration will not be as bad.

Fizzy drinks only dehydrate you when you drink it during exercise/high intensity activities. The fiz gasses up, it doesn't actaully dehydrate you but it lowers your heart rate by alot, and can make you really really dizzy.

they should not dehydrate you. caffeine is a mild diuretic, so it might dehydrate some, but not noticably. there are lots of enjoyable things that are good for you. it's also a good thing to indulge once in a while. no one should be totally deprived of the things they like.

Drink water as well, and lots of it. Or try an electrolyte replacement in 200ml cold cold water once or twice a day if you're worried, they don't taste half bad :)

I think that you should drink whatever you want. If you feel dehydrated, just drink some water too.

be realistic, one must eat to live, not live to eat.
yes, carbonated beverages do dehydrate, not because of the carbonation however, but because of the preservatives used in them which usually contain sodium.
