It is not me, but a priest at St. Mark's Episcopal Cathedral says she is also a Muslim. Doesn't it mean that it is one religion in deed as all the Abrahamic religions come from the same source? What do you think?

Yes, muslim means submission to the will of god. Alla is just arabic name for god, it does not mean islamic god.

If you live life of what abraham lived, you are a muslim, this is what Prophet mohamed (sal) has said & lived the life of prophet abraham.

in 1972, there was a conference between vatican city and delgates from Saudi Arabian Government. For first time in history christians (officially) had agreed that Mohamed sal was the prophet mentioned by Jesus in bible.

Reason why muslims dont agree to anyother religion is not other religion is incorrect but practice of idol workship is incorrect.

All religion have correlation & cross reference. To be simple, it is like different version of same software.

Bill Gates developed windows 98, about 9 years back. Now he is say he will not give any support for that software.

I persume the same way god is also doing. He changed the version and ask up to upgrade.

I've always heard from my Muslim friends, that Moses, Jesus, and Mohammad were all prophets. I think King Solomon was well-known but maybe for a different reason!

Plus, it is possible to be raised in a culture, say Jewish, and then decide to practise Buddhism. The culture base would be the same, just a new addition. Christianity and Islam have more in common that Judaism and Buddhism!

Of course there will always be people who will want to define your religion for you. Some people might say that a woman shouldn't ever be a priest! I think there is a fight in one area of the Episcopal church over liberal and conservative positions.

Everybody has their own personal relationship with the higher power, even if you talk through a priest, or are the most strict reader of a Holy Text. If not, why do people pray? Why do they think anyone listens or anyone cares? I'd say pray/think/meditate and find your own personal relationship with God, and go from there.

Good luck,
Amelia

I do agree with you that all the Abrahamic religions came from the same source and all the prophet tried to teach people the same one and only truth, that there is only one God (Creator) and people should worship him only. When you believe in one and only Creator then you should believe that all other thing except Creator, is creations. God does not want people to worship its creations, like Sun, Moon, animals, idols, Jesus(pbh) or Muhammad (s).

Christian made a son of God (Creator).
So you can not be a Christian and Muslim at the same time.

Unfortunately the Episcopal Church is a very liberal sect of Christianity. I wouldn't look to them for any answers of doctrine.

To answer your question, no it is not ok for someone to claim that he is a Christian and a Muslim, Buddhist, Hindu, etc.

Your other question about all Abrahamic religions being the same doesn't make sense to me...The promise (covenant) that God made with Abraham was carried through Isaac, not Ishmael. So...no, all Abrahamic "religions" are not the same.

Muslims will readily admit that they came from Ishmael, not Isaac. This alone tells you that Islam is not founded on eternal truth, but rather on human effort. Ishmael was conceived through human effort and his decendants have followed suit.

While Isaac (The son of Promise) was conceived by faith in God, trusting in Him to do something human effort could never do. (Genesis 15-18)

So no it is not "one religion in deed" because you would then be serving a Bi-polar God, ready to smash you one day and wanting to love you the next.

The god of Islam is an unknowable, disconnected one...who demands your service and calls you a slave. Allah is a God you cannot know personally. You know only the laws and commands of god given through his prophets. He marks out your salvation before you are born and wants you to kill on his behalf. In Islam, you must strive and work to get to God and you will never really know when you have made it.

There is One true God, who is ravished over His creation and desires a relationship with them. But sin keeps their hearts far away from Him. When they humble themselves and accept (through faith, not human effort) the payment for their sins (Jesus on the cross) He welcomes them with open arms.

The truth is: God is a lover and He is looking for people to share His love with. You are the pre-occupation of His mind...His thoughts are taken captive by you. If you could only look beyond the veil of "religion" that man has imposed, you would see the fulness of your destiny with Him.

Seek Him now while there is still time.

Any person submitting to the will of God and believing in all the prophets from Prophet Adam to Prophet Mohammad will be termed as a Muslim.

I think he's confused and deceived. Not trying to be offensive, just telling the truth.

Jesus warned His followers to beware of false prophets. I think this "priest" is an example.

Jesus ALSO said: "You cannot serve two masters..."

For your Priest to say that she has to believe and accept that Jesus did not die on the cross he was substituted with a double.

That is a belief of Islam.

I hate to tell you if you are a Christian, then you are not a muslim, & visa versa, You can not serve God & mammal. Too many thinks just because a person believes in something then they are a Christian, Satan himself believes in God but he is not a Christian.

According to the underlying idea of Islam, anyone who has surrendered to the will of God is Muslim.

I think both of you are very confused.

You can't be both, as they have polar opposite beliefs when it comes to the divinity of Jesus.
