Yes Christians did commit acts of atrocity in the past 1700 years, but IT WASN'T IN THE NAME OF CHRIST. No one shouted "Jesus Akbar", then beheaded an infidel. They did it for political gain, not for religious zeal. That's the difference. Anyway, there isn't any global christian movement today commiting acts of violence.

I agree with u. Really it's very unfortunate.Islam means peace.
But so called fundamentalists are doing such bad things which are not acceptable to majorities of Muslims.

Islam is a religion choosen by God for mankind. Some people take law in their hands and commit crimes that doesn't represent Islam. In Islam it is even forbidden to cut a fruit yielding tree for no valid reason. How can the developed world accuse Muslims for terrorism related events. They have no right to encourage anyone who does mischief against Islam. They take pride that their reaction is neutral when some one does the same thing to them. In fact they take it easy because they themselves do not adhere to the true teachings of the Prophets. Whereas Muslims adhere to the true teachings of prophets and will never tolerate if any mischief is done to them.

I particularly loved a banner at the London protests against the Danish cartoons (which depicted mohammed with a bomb in his turban), which read: "Behead those who say Islam is a religion of violence."
Oh the irony.

do yourself a favor:please stop piling up to those IGNORANT people who comment Islam directly to terrorism. I hate HYPOCRITES. Gosh, people like you are total idiots!
First of all, Islam means PEACE. Islam is a way of life. Never in the Qur'an stated the Islam, the true path to ALLAH/GOD is terrorism. Besides, if those people who killed and are morally wrong to Allah's/God's eyes mentioned were muslims... it does not mean that Allah/ God allows them to do so. Allah/God is the Most Merciful and the All-knowing.
Remember, in every religion and race...there are good and bad people. The problem with you is not only your ignorance and lack of respect, it's that your DEFINING ISLAM WITH THE WRONG PEOPLE AND ACTS.
People with minds like you often think like this:
a.If a person kills and is KNOWN AS A MUSLIM, his/her religion is brought up with his/her crime. "Hey that muslim killed!all muslim kills that's why they are terroristS"
b. If a person kills and is knwon to be a Christian, he/she is punished by legal terms without the NEED to say he/she's Christian. "hey that person killed!"
---plain hypocrisy!--
Aren't most Americans terrorist too? Look at the US ARMY. --Most of the soldiers are Christians. They CAME AND OCCUPIED IRAQ. Iraq was not the one who went to US AND STARTED KILLING INNOCENT CIVILIANS, Children, women, families etc.. Instead of promoting peace, they just add MORE CHAOS AND FUEL TO PROPAGATE the war in the Muslim country for YEARS! THAT'S TERRORISM!

By that same token, how can you expect non-christians not to blame christianity for the horrible atrocities committed in the name of Christ for the past 1700 years?
