In almost every profession, there are those who are there for the wrong reasons. There are dishonest policemen who take bribes instead of writing tickets, there are dishomest lawyers who take advantage of clients. There are preachers and pastors in almost every denomination who are caught up in immoral and illegal activities. Priests are no exception. I am sure it is an abomination to God, when those who have pledged to serve mankind, serve their preverted sexual lusts in the performance of their cleric responsabilities, But God must judge them, and judge them He will.

Every person on earth has a special mission from God. Some more important than others. Priest are human, just like everyone else on earth. Does a Baptist Minister not have a special mission as well.

And even the humans that are not ordained ministers of God have a special mission and some are pedophiles.

It's almost like people look at a priest and think he is so close to God why would he do that. Why would anyone do that. I am sure it goes on in other religions, It goes on in society.

It is wrong to just pick on priests. They are human and deserve tha same treatment and punishment as anyone else in a pedophile situation.

When a lay person is accused of being a pedophile do they say a local plumber, electrician, or whatever their profession is no they say a man from where ever is being accused of this.

Simple!!

They are not on a special mission from God, they just say they are.

In fact no-one on earth is on a special mission from God. The last person in that position was Jesus.

Vicars, priests, nuns, abbotts, monks, bishops, the pope, cardinals and other suchlike are just ordinary people. Some try their best to do good. Some don't try as hard, and others simply take advantage of their position.

I tend to wonder whether the number of priests who are pedophiles is statistically greater than the number of any other profession's members, first of all.

According to statistical evidence you are more likely to abuse your children than a priest. The national average, according to the American Psychological Association, is 4% whereas the average involving the clergy is less than 1%. It should be noted that child abuse cases have also been reported in other Christian denominations.

How better to convert you with my dear.

Sorry I had to say that one. In all honesty the vast majority of priests to my knowledge are not in fact pedophiles. Just the ones that are newsworthy.
