I understand your confusion, but there is nothing wrong nor is it a sin to explore other religions. You need to find whats best for you, where God leads you. I have read and studied many religions. I like to know what others believe. So take heart, your not doing anything wrong. explore and find were your comfortable and find God where ever you end up.

I'm a Christian and have explored other faiths. Islam for instance. I found that Islam stemed from Paganism, ie: the Moon God. They still use the same symbols over the Mosques that was used when they worshiped Allah the moon God. Budism and other faiths from the Far East have some good points that are interesting. I am more interested in the faiths that promote peace and tranquility than the ones teaching extremism. However, I haven't found anything that even remotely compares to Christianity. I believe Jesus was the Son of God and was the Messiah.

Friend, I do not believe in the way I was raised, I was raised a Methodist, until 1966, & as a sinner I knew what they were doing was not the way a Christian should be, I quit the Methodists Church 4 yrs. before I was saved, & begin in a Pentacostal church in 1966, still I was a lost sinner, & I went on for 4 yrs. as a sinner, until May 3, 1970 when I gave my life over to God, & I continued there for 4 more years, & then I saw where they began to sway away from the truth, little by little at a time, until 1974, then I had to leave that church, & now I am in a Aposotlic Pentacost church since Aug. 1974 & to this day, I have to say, everything they have preached, is in the bible, I found no fault with their teachings. And now I have been with them for 33 yrs.

My religion tells me to think and use our rationality, the one thing that differs us from animals, who are not responsible because of their inability to reason.
If you don't get curious and suspicious, think and research and reason, how will you know if you're on the right track or not? That's what my religion tells me to do.
If there was something that doesn't make sense to me, i would try to search for it on the Holy Book, if that's not enough, i would consult the ways of prophet, how he apporached that issue. If that still doesn't fit my logic, i would think that i interprete it wrong, and ask it around to those who may. However, if i still couldn't find a way out, and there is no explanation or justification to something at all, and if i was confident that the specific item is flawed, i would cease to practice that religion maybe.

No, I was not raised in the religion I am now, I was born into the Catholic religion, but I saw certain hypocracy and questioned what I saw and searched for truth, that is how I found the real truth which I have confirmed to be true over and over again, so I do not need to search anymore since I have found it, this would be futile to keep on searching, for that would be rejecting the truth, and why would I reject what I painstakingly searched for?

Nothing stopped me from asking questions or exploring other religions. Though I was raised Jewish, I now consider myself Eclectic. I learn about other religions and borrow ideas and practices to form a unique religion that works just for me.

I was raised into no religion. I accepted Christ when I was 17 after examining the Bible. Having God in my life has proven my examination and judgment to be correct.
Since I've already examined the Bible, why would I question it? I do question teachings that I hear since we're told to do so. If I don't believe it's in line with scripture I reject it.

The Holy Spirit of God penetrated my heart & mind 7 years ago when I got saved.
He is the reason why I believe what I believe. It's not a brain thing.....it never has been. God saves you through the blood of Christ.....and enables you to believe.
What keeps me from exploring other religions is that I know that I know....that Jesus Christ is the only way to heaven.
Exploring elsewhere would be futile.....and deadly on my part eternally speaking.

This question from someone who claims to eschew religion is a bit strange, as you have obviously stopped searching, as well.
Why?
And if you claim to "believe" in God, how do you ever expect to ever get to know him, without benefit of some well qualified assistance?
