Yes, and in several senses:
1. Real human sacrifices, which of course are hidden and secret
2. Symbolic, as it happens in every Christian liturgy
3. Metaphorically, as many are getting "sacrificed" for others to make money, or stole the money and not proper infrastructure exist
4. Allegorically, as people "sacrifice" friends, relatives, partners, etc. for someone else or something else!

Some of the remaining cultures who do this sort of thing are not doing it as a "sacrifice". They are killing (and eating) people who they think are, or have become "kakua", or witch doctor. I read a fascinating article about this in an issue of Smithsonian. The culture is the Korowai, who are from Papua, New Guinea.

Probably. The world is a mighty big place and who knows what everyone else is doing. Have you ever seen "Wicker Man"? I know it is fiction, but let's be honest, people have a lot of strange ideas in this world, so I say the possibility is high.

Every single second there is someone sacrificing them selves. It is not necessary. There is a better way. We just have to find it.

They sure do, mostly in tribes in Africa and Indonesia. Most of these would be cannibalism as well though.
