My husband brought home a street cat 6 month ago. She has long hair and I have been brushing her on a daily basis with a special 'rubbery' brush that I bought to make sure the hair she sheds is on the brush and not all over the house.
The cat is ok with it, but I was wondering whether I am irritating her skin or causing her issues with the daily brushing. Should I brush her less often? I also make sure she gets short haircuts at the vet's office. But still, it doesn't resolve the shedding.

I don't think it's bothering her. It's a good thing to brush cats that have long fur, do I would keep doing it if I were you.

She should be just fine. If she doesn't like the brushing, she will let you know. She's probably still recovering from life as a street kitty as well as being long-haired. And long-haired cats do tend to shed a lot and need lots of brushing.

She is lucky to have met your husband and you!

Daily brushing is fine. We try to brush our short-haired cats everyday because of my allergies.
